Why yoga belongs in every school day

A few minutes of yoga each day can help students focus, manage stress and build healthy habits for life. Here is why we champion it in schools.

Students today juggle exams, tuition classes and long hours in front of screens. Yoga offers something rare: a simple, low-cost practice that strengthens the body and calms the mind at the same time.

Better focus and calmer minds

Breathing exercises (pranayama) and short relaxation practices help students settle their minds before study. Teachers who include a few minutes of yoga in the school day often notice a calmer, more attentive classroom.

Strength, flexibility and posture

Regular practice builds core strength and flexibility and helps counter the slouched posture that comes from long hours at desks and on phones.

Inclusive by nature

Yoga can be adapted for almost anyone, including children with disabilities. Chair-based and adaptive yoga let every student join in — which is exactly the kind of inclusion we work towards.

How Sportisa helps

We run yoga awareness sessions for schools and community groups. If you would like us to visit your school, get in touch.
